how to see locked assignments on canvas

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Canvas, the learning management system, doesn't typically have a feature that allows students to view "locked" assignments in the same way that you might be able to view upcoming assignments. Access to assignments in Canvas is usually controlled by the instructor, and they determine when assignments are visible or "unlocked" for students.

Here are some general steps you can follow to view assignments in Canvas:

  1. Login to Canvas:

    • Log in to your Canvas account using your username and password.
  2. Navigate to the Course:

    • Go to the course for which you want to view assignments.
  3. Access Assignments:

    • Look for a tab or link labeled "Assignments," "Modules," or a similar term on the course homepage or menu. This is where your instructor may have organized assignments.
  4. Check Due Dates:

    • Pay attention to due dates listed for each assignment. If an assignment is locked, it might be because the due date has not yet arrived.
  5. Contact Your Instructor:

    • If you believe there might be an issue or if you need clarification, consider reaching out to your instructor. They can provide information on the availability of assignments and whether there are specific conditions for unlocking them.

Remember that the appearance and functionality of Canvas can vary depending on how your instructor has set up the course. If there have been updates or changes to Canvas features since my last update in January 2022, you may want to check Canvas guides or contact your institution's support for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

If your instructor has explicitly stated that certain assignments are "locked" and you cannot find them, it's crucial to communicate with them to seek guidance on accessing the assignments
